About Bournemouth

Bournemouth, situated on the sunshine southern coast of England, boasts 15 kilometres of sandy beaches, and
extensive floral gardens. It is a popular seaside resort with a mild climate even in winter and is ideal for the
overseas student. Thousands of students and business people come here every year to
learn English. With a population of 150,000, plus nearly two million people taking their holiday in Bournemouth,
and a further two million visiting on day trips, it has become very cosmopolitan creating a lively and friendly
atmosphere in which to study.
The Bournemouth area is the British home of many large financial institutions (Chase Manhattan Bank, American Express, Zurich International). Bournemouth has two of the most popular local radio stations; its own famous Symphony Orchestra (BSO); and is an excellent centre for shopping. It is a well known international venue for many sports such as snooker, tennis, bowls. It is also the venue for political conferences.
The variety of nightlife offers entertainment for all age groups: restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, shows, concerts, cinemas, and local English pubs. Ideally situated for day trip excursions and within two hours of London and all international airports, road and rail links, Bournemouth provides everything to make your stay enjoyable.
