About The College
Situated in the commercial heart of Bournemouth on The Lansdowne, our College is only 5 minutes walk from the railway and coach stations; and 5 minutes walk to the beach and shopping centre. 95 per cent of all local buses pass either side of The College.
The Bournemouth International Language College is independent, and offers the
highest standard of English language education to adult students and professional business people in an executive environment. The modern approach to the methods of teaching English have been developed through the many years of professional teaching experience in both commercial and educational institutions. Teaching both English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English for Special Purpose (ESP) in any subject, the courses provide total immersion in the language and culture.
The College is a registered centre for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) and also has a recognised TEFL training unit, supporting the LCCIEB Certificate in Teaching English for Business. Through these programmes we supply and support schools, colleges and universities around the world. The College has been awarded the prestigious government award 'Investor in People' in recognition of its ongoing commitment to staff training.
All The College faculty members hold a TEFL Certificate plus a Teacher Training Award for Business English, and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Assessor Awards. Many tutors also hold other state recognised teaching certificates such as FAETC City & Guilds 7306; Cert.Ed.; or B.Ed.;
along with their individual academic and professional qualifications.

Class sizes are restricted to 5 students which enables us to provide the highest level of tuition. Each lesson lasts for 45 minutes in our executive style classrooms. Lessons take place in the morning and afternoon, and each day you will also have the option of two hours homework to help you progress faster.
The College offers various courses in EFL and ESP concentrating on the key skill areas: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Courses are in line with the national curriculum thus enabling students to take recognised English language certificated qualifications. |
