The London Underground.
The average travelling time from the host
family to the school is 30 minutes.
We recommend that you buy a Period Travelcard.
London is divided into zones (like
an onion).
Almost all the host families live
in zones 1 and 2 (1 is the centre).
Very rarely in summer we use families in zone3).

- You can use the travelcards as much as
you like within the area of the zones.
- It is almost certain that the family
or student house will be in zones 1 or 2.
- You will need a passport photo to use
on the card.
- When you get to Central school we can
advise you about the best method of buying a travelcard.
Period Travelcards and Season Tickets
Available 7 Day, monthly or for any period
up to one year
- Travelcard seasons can start on any
day of the week
- No time restrictions, including travel
on N-prefixed Night Buses
- You can make as many journeys as you
want within the zones selected
- Just a few extra journeys will save
you money against ordinary fares
