Flamenco Shows

The Reina Mora offers a unique opportunity to see a genuine Flamenco show at its best. Any visit to Granada would not be complete without visiting the Alhambra and seeing live authentic gypsy dancing.

The Reina Mora is situated at the top of the Albayzín next to the Mirador de San Crisobal. From the mirador there is a breathtakingly beautiful panorama.

The Alhambra stands majestically beneath the backdrop of the snow tipped peaks of the Sierra Nevada and to the right you have a bird's eye view of the rest of Granada. If you want to see an authentic flamenco show please visit us, don't miss it.

The Gypsy Flamenco evening accurately encapsulates the essence and colourful ambience of the Sacromonte. We provide a free drink of your choice to consume during the performance.

In addition to the Gypsy-Flamenco Show we include a free guided tour of the ALBAYZIN - SACROMONTE which will give you a better understanding of the cultural backdrop which gave rise to this art form.

The walking tour which starts at the Tablao de Flamenco lasts approximately 45 minutes and takes a route through the Arabic quarter which has been designated as "PATRIMONY OF HUMANITY" by UNESCO. You will learn about the customs, traditions and craftwork of the Albaicín both in the present and throughout history.

You will see Mosques which have been converted to Catholic churches, Algibes (Arabic water cisterns), typical Arabic houses with gardens, places adorned with flowers, Nazarí pottery and wrought iron work, and the marketplace, on your way through the narrow maze like streets you will be able to discover the distinctive character and beauty which is typical of AL-ANDALUZ .

Lost in the emblematic Jewish-Arabic quarter you will be astounded by the view at the famous Mirador de San Nicolás; all of Granada at your feet, the Alhambra illuminated against the night sky, an incomparable setting to introduce you to the enchantment and magic of Flamenco.

From this vantage point you will catch a nocturnal panoramic glimpse of the gypsy caves of Sacromonte. The original inhabitants of the Sacromonte caves were nomadic and of Hindu origin. They first arrived in the fifteenth century. Five hundred years of staying in the same place has no doubt contributed to their musical ability which is the centre point of our show.

On returning once again to the Tablao Flamenco Reina Mora we will give you a brief overview of the development of this art form and we will finish the tour by giving you some explanations which will help you understand the performance. Then you will have the privilege to behold the enthusiastic and professional performance of our flamenco artists.
