Swandean
School of English
was founded in 1976 in Worthing, on Englands South
Coast, and has been accredited by the British Council there
since 1983. Over more than 20 years, we have helped many,
many students improve their English and enjoy their stay
in England.
In
April 1997, we opened our London branch in the attractive,
fashionable area of Wimbledon, famous for The Championships
the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world
held here every summer. This new school provides
an alternative to our South Coast centres and will attract
students who want to enjoy the excitement and buzz of the
capital city of the UK, combined with the relaxation of
a leafy suburb. Wimbledon is just 20 minutes from Central
London via excellent public transport links but also offers
green open spaces, such as The Common, and chic Wimbledon
Village.
Swandean
School Wimbledon is located in Broadway House, a modern
office block on The Broadway, at the heart of Wimbledon
town centre. It is only a 5 minute walk from the Underground
and Mainline stations, a superb indoor shopping complex
(aptly named Centre Court), three theatres and a multi-screen
cinema, many pubs, restaurants and a leisure centre. Nearby
there are other sports facilities including the All England
Lawn Tennis Club (home of The Championships and a tennis
museum).
